Handyman – Broilers
Rainbow is seeking a dedicated and skilled Handyman – Broilers to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on maintenance support within our broiler operations, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and structures are kept in optimal working condition.
Role Purpose:
- Electrical, mechanical, and civil maintenance and repair of agriculture-related machinery and equipment.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Operate and monitor mechanical equipment for daily production needs
- Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or irregularities
- Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for production lines
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns
- Carry out routine servicing and repairs to maintain equipment performance
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Support compliance with Health & Safety, hygiene, and OHS Act requirements
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards
- Contribute to a high-performance, team-oriented culture
Knowledge/Competencies:
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (preferably with Maths and Science)
- Technical Qualification: N3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (experience with scales is a plus)
- Trade Test (Mechanical): Advantageous
- Mechanically inclined with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Able to work independently and under pressure
- Willing to work shifts and overtime as needed
- Code 8 driver’s license: Advantageous
- Physically fit and capable of working in challenging conditions
- Strong communication skills in English
