What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Sales Consultant/Brand Ambassador for PayJoy, you’ll be the friendly face of the brand at our partner retail stores. Your main responsibility will be chatting with potential customers, explaining how PayJoy’s financing works, and helping them get the smartphone they’ve been eyeing. If you love tech and know how to make customers smile, you’ll be a perfect fit for boosting sales and spreading the word about PayJoy.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Connecting with People: You’ll be approaching customers in the retail store, figuring out what they need, and introducing them to PayJoy’s awesome financing options.
  • Know Your Stuff: You’ll get to know our financing like the back of your hand, along with all the cool phone models and payment plans we offer.
  • Making it Happen: You’ll be explaining the value of PayJoy—easy approval, flexible payments, and building credit—to hit your sales goals.
  • Being PayJoy: You’ll be our enthusiastic representative, making sure everyone has a great and informative experience with our brand.
  • Guiding the Way: You’ll help customers through the PayJoy application process, making it smooth and easy.
  • Building Bridges: You’ll create good relationships with both customers and the folks at the retail stores—teamwork makes the dream work!
  • Keeping Things Sharp: You’ll make sure our PayJoy displays look great and our area is always professional.
  • Keeping Us in the Loop: You’ll share regular updates with the Smollan team about sales, customer chats, and what’s happening in the market.
  • Playing by the Rules: You’ll follow all the Smollan/PayJoy guidelines and the store’s operational procedures.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • At least 6 months’ experience in sales, customer service, or something similar (retail or telecom experience is a plus!).
  • Great communication, people skills, and the ability to present information clearly.
  • A real focus on the customer and a passion for making them happy.
  • The knack for explaining things simply and effectively.
  • You’re a self-starter, driven to get results, and can work well on your own.
  • You’re genuinely interested in technology and smartphones.
  • Basic computer skills and comfortable using mobile apps.
  • You’re flexible with your hours, including weekends and holidays, to match retail schedules.
  • You’ve got your high school matric or equivalent.

  • You will be required to have your own smartphone in order to be considered for the position.

  • This position may require you to work between multiple sites within a specific area.

What you’ll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

  • Based on cold calling, visiting stores to negotiate orders and sell products to the store
  • Develop relationship with store manager
  • Place accurate orders with the call center.
  • Negotiate forward share
  • Compile weekly and monthly reports based on customer liaison and sales
  • Identify challenges and corrective actions
  • Ensure account forms are completed and delivered
  • Administer and complete according to requirements
  • Gather feedback from customer complaints, queries and requests and ensure resolution
  • Monitor order and delivery day
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
  • Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
  • Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands
  • Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change
  • Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organisational needs

  • English
